Am restoring a 1941 Farmall H, just to be used in parades etc. (have another one that will remain the workhorse). It has an oil leak midsection, that does not appear to be either engine or rear end. Since the hydraulic system will not be used again, it is safe to remove the oil? Or, do I get the tear it down and repair seals, etc? Thanks to all you that participate in this site--its darn good shared learning!!

If you're going to drain it, I'd sure take a couple of minutes to pull the cover and remove that drive coupler too.

That way, the pump isn't running dry.

I wouldn't drain the hydraulic oil unless you're going to pull the pump. The pump probably needs
a new seal. Hal
