Do you have to remove the flywheel to remove the pilot bearing? If so can you remove the flywheel through the same hole as the clutch? Any tricks to removing the bearing in place? Tx, Steve

You cannot remove the flywheel without splitting the tractor...

You CAN change the clutch and pressure plate without splitting the tractor. Of course you will have to remove the belly pump and drive shaft for it, and you will also need to remove the driveshaft from the clutch to the transmission.

YES, the pilot bearing can be removed and re-installed without removing the flywheel. Any decent auto parts store should have a pilot bearing/bushing puller.

Pilot bearing at the back of the transmission?

You need to remove the lift-all and the clutch shaft. The drive shaft pulls out through the back of the transmission case. Hardest part is the lift-all because it's pretty heavy.
