My story is...Bought a 1947 M to restore. Motor is from a 1950 with a live pump but stuck, but it has a Schwartz wide front and a Saginaw 3pt conversion. I paid $400 for it. I wanted to sell the wide front and the 3pt conversion. Guy comes to look at the wide front and offers $1200 for whole tractor. He now owns it. Wish I had 6 more just like it.....

I just bought a good running 49 MD with duals and a wide front for $500. I had to rebuild the starter. Runs and starts line a top, and has been converted to 12v with a GM alt. I think I got a pretty good deal.

Sounds like he got a pretty good deal. $1200 is not bad for a M with a live pump, 3pt, and wide front.

The new owner wanted the wide front to put on a 53 Super M but decided to use this M as a project to teach his son how to rebuild an old tractor. My dad got me interested in old iron about 25 years ago in a similar way so I was glad to help him out. My dad who is 89 is still very active in rebuilding old tractors with me claims to have a Super MTA for us to purchase/restore. More to follow.

With those options, you may find it was much easier to sell than it will be to replace at $1,200. mike

So do several others, I think if you and the new owner are happy. all is peachy. I agree with Allen, the parts are worth $2k. JimN

Dunno Tom,

Including freight, both the Saginaw and Schwartz will set one back a grand apiece (new) and that live pump is worth probably $300 used.

Tractor being stuck and all is worth in the neighborhood of $250

Think the feller did okay. :>)

I just spent $125 on distributor parts and still have to make the bushing, if that doesn't work would you kindly send him to Missouri to see if he wants to add an MD to his collection.
