Farmall A / Fuel Tank Needed

I'm in need of a non-leaker. Shame too because there's a bit a father-in-law connection to this one. Anybody have one on the shelf?

I would use the Red-Kote sealer, but after a direct discussion with Damon Industries' tech, he says it's not recommend for any baffled tank.

Any help? Thanks, Ken / ken@superfetch.com

2 things:
1 - What year is your tractor? A '39 or '40 has a different tank than a '41 and later. It has to do with the Dzeus fittings that hold on the early hoods.

2 - I've used sealer in my B tank. It also had leaks where the baffles are spot welded on, under the bottom bracket. It's been good for 10+ years now. You have to be generous with the sealer and put in multiple coats, but it does work.

I have one from a B, not sure if there the same or not. But if they are then I'd sell it but If I where you I might try the other way first and take a gabble on it

What kind of leak do you have?
If you have a crack, you can stabilize the crack by drilling and installing a truss head screw and sealing with JB Weld. I have done this where the baffle spotweld cracked the bottom of the tank.

Yes, it seems to be up under the bracket/baffle tac welds.

You should have no problem with using tank coat in that tank, i have done an M, Super C and a B all have a baffle divider and never had a issue, if you tank is not that bad i sure would clean it out real well, on how to do that just type that inot the archives and it should give you many hits on how to do that, and then apply the tank coat. the tank coat is sure alot cheaper than a new tank, i would give it a try if you tank doesnt have great big holes in it, then can be reapired with JB weld or real weld etc. Just my thoughts....

I agree with others, I would clean the tank good then apply the liner x 2 coats since you have a leak-- The quart size can is plenty for 2 coats. I've done many over the years with excellent results-You also eliminate the rust problems this way-One of the first things I do when I start with another old offset farmall is to clean
and line the tank in this manner--Glynn

Addendum---I have 2 that I'd sell;however, the liner for yours would probably wouldn't cost more
than the shipping cost alone on another--Your
choice-----glynn
