Need Help on a Super M

Have 52" Super M. Need to remove a leaking belly pump. Got my manuals but they didn"t get into the details on how to pull the lower coulping a part to drop the pump. Don't see any locking pins or bolts to slide it apart to lower the pump. Can any one give me some help here.

the coupling is just a steel disc with two slots 90 degrees apart. rotate the pump coupling so one is facing up and down, the pump will just slide straight down. BE CAREFUL, that dang pump is HEAVY!!! i use all thread rod in four of the retaining bolts, run a nut up on each, then remove the rest of the bolts, use the nuts to lower the pump down, it takes a while, but better than droppin that pump on ya!!!!!

Thanks for the input. I will look at it tomorrow morning. I have a hydraulic floor jack the will support the pump while I take the bolts out and lower it. I did try to turn the coupling but could not get it to move. Had to turn the engine over to get it to move so I'll just crank it again to get it vertical and remove.

If in neutral, block down the clutch it will turn then! JimN

That belly pump is heavy, clumsy, and awkward, and as soon as it clears the belly casting it will tip and fall off the jack. At the very least you will need a v-shaped cradle fastened to the jack.

Thanks for the feed back, I knew that was going to be an a problem. I have a 24 inch by 24 inch steel plate attached to the jack. I will also have my 27 year old son helping me with the removal and we will use a rod through the pump.

Mike - If you depress the clutch pedal and tie it down, the pump coupling should then rotate easily by hand.

Also, not only is that pump very heavy, it is also very ackward and top heavy. It is quite difficult to keep it balanced on a floor jack.
