something like that should work for you. We have a farmall regular H (versus a super) but we ran a hydraulic hose from the left side of the tractor, under the seat, and from there it splits into two hoses to go to the cylanders. I higly recommend the hitch- it works very well on the H and we have purchased a blade for plowing snow in cold winter michigan. The downside, at least for us, is there is no downward pressure. I am sure that something can be rigged up so the hitch has pressure both up and down.

Hope this helps- good luck.

(good decision on the type of tractor to restore!!!)

Hi Dan,

I'm in the process of restoring (for use) my Dad's Farmall 400. I just ordered a new Saginaw 3pt. hitch for it. After ~3 weeks of looking/shopping and reading a lot of info on this board the Saginaw appears to be the best aftermarket hitch available. You can see it on their website at>Link

It>Link comes complete with two hyd. cylinders. The whole package cost me $760. That was with shipping and some axle brackets I needed. Seems like a lot of $$$ now, but it should provide many years of service and could be used on other Farmalls if the need every came up. Could be just the thing for you given your H has live hyd.

Worksaver (www.worksaver.com) also has one, but they cost more and don't include any hyd. cylinders. Found a few others, but they just didn't compare for the money.

Hope this helps, Skeeter

Dan, A lot of the Super-H's had live hydraulics. Does your tractor have this ?

Red, Yes my super h has live hydraulics, but in the manual I got with the tractor it shows a lift-all system that goes along with the hydraulic pump. Once the pump is engaged, then the lift all valve controls the flow of fluid to the cylinder? What is your suggestion??? Dan

Dan,
The lift-all was an option, but not a 3-point.
The lift-all could be gotten from almost any H that has one installed and there are aftermarket 3-point hitches available. I have one on my M that utilizes the lift-all and two cultivator cylinders mounted on etiher side of the platform. Looks sorta stock and works great (once you get used to non-live hydraulics!).

Phil

Phil, Thanks for your reply, Could you tell me a little more about your aftermarket 3 point hitch, did you get it at your IH dealer? Were the two cylinders you mounted on the platform included or are they special? How much will it lift?Where does the 3rd link go?Roughly how much are they? Can you leave the hitch on if you install a 3pt? Dan.
