The belly pump on my 52 H has been leaking for a while but I havnt had time to fix it. I think it is leaking where the 3 pipes come together but I'm not sure. How hard is this to fix? Could I get it done in 1 Saturday? Should I replace some other gaskets while I'm at it? Well thanks in advance and please tell me anything that I should be aware of. I gotta get it going so I can hook the snowblade up and push some snow w/o the fluid leakin all over the place!!!

I made 2 special tools to help drop the pump. The tools were made as specified in the H manual, basicly 2 big "T" handles, with a detail on the end to keep the pump from rotating on you. A hundred pounds might be the right weight, but it is also in an awkward position.

Irv ps. must be on a posting high tonite, it is wet and rainy here in mid michigan.

The common two spots for leaks is the reservoir gasket and the countershaft seal. If you suspect the pipes, then unscrew them, apply some teflon tape and reinstall and see if the leak persists. The 3 pipes thread into a manifold. The manifold bolts to the main pump. There is a gasket there and it can develop a leak.

You can drop the pump, dismantle and repair and reinstall in less than 1/2 day. Get help. The pump and reservoir weigh 100 pounds!!

Ahhhh, the Red. I wish I still had your optimism. I find that most tractor projects take me twice the time (at least) that I had imagined..... ..

Especially if the seal suface is worn or pitted on the nut.
I am waiting for mine from the machine shop . They will spay coat it with a special torch . will be done right soon I hope . There is also a devise called a speedy sleeve . They are in common shaft sises in 1/16 " increments . And diferent widths . About 30.00 buck a pop . There very thin and have an adhesive so no leaks .

I use 4 threaded rods to lower the liftall pump. Works beautiful just like an elevator. I've done three M,s so far.Be careful when you drop it down and good luck
