My dip stick indicated that my tranny oil level was overfull. So I thought I would take some out by backing off the drain plug under the tranny. I noticed water coming out first then the oil. I decided to drain it because of the water. I read that there is 3 drain plugs that should be removed can you tell me where the other 2 are?? Also I need to know what type and weight oil to add. I live up north ,should I be using a lighter oil for winter use.

Thanks

Peter (Ottawa)

A little water from condensation is normal, especially in cold weather. But overfull can make it leak past the axle seals (onto the brakes), so it is right you should drain some of it. The archives are full of info on what to put in it if you drain it all.
