This may take awhile to load all the pics. Please be patient. I bought a box of what was advertised as Ford headlights, but when I got them I found 3 or 4 Hall lamp lights that I've not seen on a Ford before. I'm wondering if these were originally on a Ferguson and if so, which model(s)? Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think. Thanks!

The ground wire is attached to the outer ring. The outer ring is held on to the main body with two screws through the front.

The sealed beam lamp is held in place in the outer ring with 3 or 4 spring clips. I only put two clips in place for this photo. There are two more clips on the garage floor under the tape measure. Anyone know where more of these clips can be had?

The overall shape is kind of conical like the old Tract-O-Lites on the N-series Fords. The mounting base is the same as the round style used on the later 8N's and newer Fords rather than wing mounts.

This shows how the outer ring which holds the lamp is attached with two screws to the main body.

Last picture. This shows a close up of one of the spring clips. One of these lights had 4 clips holding the lamp in and another had 3 clips, but 2 other lights had no lamp and no clips so I could use more clips. If you know where these are sold I'd appreciate the information.

All of these lights have "HallLamp" stamped in a diamond shape at the back near the base. Thanks in advance for any info you can give.

I just got done rebuilding all my TO-30 lights and converting them to 12 volt. I got a complete bag of retaining clips from my local M/F dealer, I think there were 10 in the bag and cost appr. $6.50.

I tried my local MF dealer. He said they were available (although he didn't have any in stock) and that they came 10 in a bag (I knew that). The price he quoted was $6.09 PER CLIP!! I asked him to confirm that was the per clip price and not the per bag price. He insisted that was the price per clip and I would have to buy 10 of them. So either your dealer made a mistake or mine is making a mistake. Needless to say, I walked.

THE DEALER!! What a concept. Why didn"t I think of that? You don"t happen to have the part number handy, do you?

My dealer also tried to charge me per clip. I asked him if the bag looked as if it had $65.00 worth of clips in it and he agreed that it didn"t. So he checked his computer again and found that he had made the mistake as they were priced per bag, not per each.

Jim, nice pictures for the questions. Yes, these are Ferguson lamps for the front. Suitably painted to match the correct tractor paint these could be mounted on any Ferguson TO20 thru F40. These particular ones have stamped bezels so are a little later probably for late 30 and on. Early bezels were cast and not so subject to he corrosion shown. But they appear to be restoreable and the clamps were 4 to a lamp assy and the ones for Ford mentioned in the responses will be ok or as some have said you can make your own from spring steel material.

Ah, nice detail....stamped vs cast bezel. That helps narrow it down. As some of you may have guessed, I'm getting these ready for resale and I wanted to be able to represent them accurately.

I show the retainer clip in my Dennis Carpenter catalog. You can get a catalog at www.dennis-carpenter.com.

Paul,
A while back I posted this same ? on the forum about the clips. I forget who, but someone told me to check "info@dennis-carpenter.com" or phone (704) 786-8139. He deals in mostly repro Ford stuff but things like this are fairly universal. I havn't got around to checking yet so can't say for sure.
The lights on my TO35 were held in place by a piece of foam rubber someone used to replace the clips. The headlights in your pix look just like mine.

These should be the factory lamps for the to-20, to-30 and possibly the to-35. As for the clips I don't have a clue as where to get them.

Thanks! That at least confirms what I suspected. Now at least I know what to ask for when looking for the clips.
