Well, I tried 2 or 3 MF dealers and they all wanted between $5.75 and $6.50 per clip and I had to buy a bag of 10 minimum. No one could be convinced that the price should be per bag, not per clip. So I took a suggestion from here and made a bunch of them out of piano wire (0.043"). They ain't beautiful but they work! The clip on the top row, far left is an original. All the others are my handiwork (term used loosely). The first one took an hour to get all the bends semi-right. After that I could knock one out in about 6 minutes using a couple different sets of pliers.

I guess I'm just too cheap. $7.50 for 4 is or $12.50 (plus shipping) for 5 is still too much. These ought to be 50 cent items. Still, it's good to know what the alternatives are.

You"re too kind. The fuzzy picture makes them look better than they do in person. You can"t beat a machine stamped part by trying to bend one by hand, but I think the imperfections in my clips give them more "charm"!

Check the Ford 8N/9N board, but I believe Dennis Carpenter in NC sells these clips for a reaonable price. Should be same for the Fergie lights.

I already chased that lead. Dennis Carpenter makes and sells the clips for the CMHall worklight that has the bulb soldered in the reflector. Those clips are much smaller than the ones that hold the sealed beam lamp in the Hall Lamp headlights. I have one of the smaller clips, too, and I should take a picture of both clips side by side so everyone can see what I mean.

I sent DC a picture of the larger clips I was looking for and explained what they were used for and I got a 4 word response "We don't have those".

If these wire clips hold the glass reflector into the rim, then they look suspiciously similar to those used in old motorcycle headlamps.
Has anyone tried classic bike dealers?
They"re usually listed as W clips and come in packs of four.
Last time I bought some they cost peanuts.
