Thanks again for your continuing help.

If the shear pin broke, would the outside big pump gear that you can see still turn when the motor turns over? I ask because this gear does turn when the motor does.

Not unknown for outer gear to rotate whilst pump gears remain stationary. Pull the pump and look inside. Will probably need a kit to sort it.

With pin or key sheared between the pump drive gear and the pump shaft, the gear turns but the shaft doesn't. When the shaft doesn't turn, the pump doesn't pump. This shouldn't happen unless there's metal been ingested into the pump.

Could even be a broken shaft inside the pump.
