GOVERNOR FLYWEIGTHT ASSEMBLY?

Where can I find a governor fly weigtht assembly for a TO 20 Ferguson with Continental engine? Mine has two of the separators broken off and I can't get it to work. I think a coupld of the balls are riding up on what is left of the ball separators and hanging it.

This is the engine that I ground the rod journal in the block with my old fashioned crank grinder. That part seems to be working OK but it wouldn't last long without a governor. Probably what did the damage to the engine before I got in distress. Basket case if I ever saw one

Also the front pulley was loose and there was a knocking at the pulley when it was running. Turned out that who ever rebuilt this engine in the past put the shims for the crankshaft thrust bearing in front of the thrust bearing retainer instead of in between. I had to grind a little off the retainer in order to get it out and put the shims behind but managed to do it without taking off the oil pump since I had the whole engine together except for the timing cover. and front axle of course is off the tractor.

Shoot!
Help!

Zane: The after market suppies the gov. assy. I punched up Walts tractors and they list part # UM15030 for $55.00. I bought mine from local MF dealer, part #529737M91.My early TO 20 originally came with the flyweight gov. and I switched it to the Novi Ball gov. I believe the ball gov. is the same from TE 20 thru MF 135 gas.Anyway I had to place a 1/16" washer between the gov. and cam per ITT manual. Did you find stones for your Intheblock grinder?
Winona Van Norman may have the stones or tell you where to get them. Winona Van Norman has a web site with email addresses. Goodson might be able to help you also. Both are in Winona Mn.

Thank you for the information. I found the governor on this site and ordered it. I think it came to about 65 shipping and all.

No I never did find the stones for the Intheblok grinder and mine is about past working it is small now. I did buy some stones and managed to take one off it's mandrel by heating it and melting the solder that held it on but I think it is going to be too soft a stone and probably be hard to get straight on the old mandrel shaft out of the grinder.

I did contact Winona etc and they all say it is obsolete for the past 50 years and no stones available.

Thanks again, Zane
