I got the hydraulic pump out. It had a broken bronze bushing in the center where the PTO shaft slides through. I replaced it. replaced the releif valve and the control valve since it was out. Reinstalled it all the linkage is right, made sure twice, the control valve was moving well back and forth, fork retraction spring is on. I then tightened everything, added the oil, started it up, and NO PRESSURE. No pressure at the lower plug , no pressure upstairs. No turbulance near the releif valve, it must be seated. Does the pump need to be primed? Please give me some feedback. my next venture us possiblt stuck inlet valve? but the other side would make pressure?

It is possible that it needs priming, but unusual if it does. You should have lubed everything as you rebuilt the Pump to prevent any air leaks. The Relief valve doesn't give problems only when they are misused by continually blowing off and then the pressure drops, but they don't fail completely. To prime the Pump, slacken the setscrew on the top of each side chamber, one at a time to release any air there may be, no need to rev the engine. Regarding a stuck inlet valve, there are four so they cant all be stuck. Did you take them out of the side chamber and did you put them back in the same position as they were originally, if not they will leak because they wear to the shape of the seat. Have you checked that the Control Fork is actually moving the valve into the correct position for lift/suction, the fork should be right up against the Pump Body when the valve is into lift position, unless it is right up against the Body of the Pump it can't suck oil in. If the Fork is not in this position have you moved the Control Quadrant at all as this will vary the position of the Control Fork. Have you got the correct grade of oil in the system GL1-90W or 15W-30 Multi-grade. Is the PTO in gear? Did you remove the Control Valve Bush from the body, if so did you replace it in the correct position so that the oil holes line up, is the Control Valve Bush fully into the Pump Body so that the end of the Bush does not stand proud from the face of the Pump Body.

Thanks with the help John, but i found it this morning. With the side covers off and running i didnt get any action off the lift quadrant. But when i stuck a pry bar in and moved the control linkage she lifted up. I then drained the oil and removed the control valve and compared it to another. It was exactly .125 in shorter than the other new in package. I replaced it with the longer one and it worked as it should. I guess the moral i dont trust new parts ALWAYS compare them to the old. Thanks again

Have you set the Control Quadrant so it holds at 2-1/2 inches down the quadrant. If this is wrong it will have some bearing on how far it pushes the Control Valve into the body of the Pump. Check the Control Spring too it should JUST turn with a load on the hydraulics.

Yes i sure did, control spring just enough to turn with little or no endplay ,its finished and the customer is picking up tommorrow morning. Its just bad when i grab 2 of the same part numbers off the shelf, made and packaged by the same manufacturer are that far off. This is why our country is going down hill.Sorry to say it but its true.
