I've been working again on the TO 35 and decided to replace the recently purchased exhaust with something that looks like it belongs. I bought this exhaust site unseen and was not real happy with it but used it for a while. It functioned ok just was not what I wanted. I sold the front bumper and have a neat little item coming that is a reproduction of a folding bumper for Fergies. I'll post a photo when I get it and they have been on ebay from time to time

Heres the new exhaust. Sounds like a strait pipe but I'll take the looks over the sound. The cast elbow came from this site

Scored a "tool box" fender recently which was desperately needed. Mine was mangled like the right fender (which has also been replaced) The wires are on the insides of the fenders so the chains do not get them.

I think I'll call it my Circus tractor

One thing I noticed on one of your pictures was two metal plates attached to the Top Link connection on your tractor, I think these are for the height control chains on a Bush-Hog, these should be attached to the long hinged pin under the top link connection. If you leave it attached to the top link connection there is a danger that it will break off the "neck" that houses the Control Spring because it is pulling at the wrong angle for strength.

Good catch, you did see those. I've since pulled them as I mow with a finish mower and don't need them

Did that model tractor come with a adjustable 3 point on BOTH sides or is that an add on? It's really looking good. I'm having trouble finding a proper clamp for the exhaust pipe to the aftermarket manifold on my TO-20 with the original low pipe. They look like Chinese junk.

I believe they were just like the 20's and 30's with the adjustable on the right and fixed on the left. A freind of mine has a well cared for 35 and thats what it has. My 35 had aftermaket on both sides and I've replaced the right side but not the left yet.

hey john!...looking good! i really like the look of that stack. i'd put one on mine 'cept like larry said, my trees would have a ball knocking it off for me. i've already had to repair my sunshade once when i forgot and got too close to the edge. speaking of larry, he and i are both familiar with that "cream" color on your front wheels. while larry's have recently turned gray, mine on my twenty are still that color. we were wondering why they all see to come new painted that color? your new fender looks good too. in fact the whole tractor is coming together nice...should i start keeping my eyes open for a work tractor for you? 80)

My front wheels are Ford Gray. They were on my 8n untill I located a pair of original 19" wheels for it. Ones a Ferg wheel the other is a std ag wheel. I have another Ferg wheel now but its painted darker gray like the rears. If I change it I'll have 2 different color front wheels! You know I don't have any Orange or brown parts yet and I took the Blue fender off once I found the red one!

Hey John,

Now that muffler and pipe look like they belong! You could almost convince me that is what I need to put on my 20, but with all these darn trees in Tennessee, especially around my place, it wouldn"t be there long. Where did you find those good-looking lights?

Larry

The front lights are off the TO 20 I had. The rear red light is a repro Ford 8n light, and the rear "work" light is a Ford headlight that I driled and added the worklight toggle switch to. The ignition switch only has 1 position for lights so its handy being able to shut off the rear work light. The biff muffler is shorter than the one I took off, its probably no taller than the operator but it doesn't duck well.
