Hi,
I am trying to figure out if the Harry Ferguson tractor I have a rare model or just a run of the mill model. The serial number TO-40687. I believe it to be eitther a TO-40 or possibly a F-40. I am interested in things like the model name, the year it was made, numbers made that year, etc. My attempts at researching this info on the net have left me confused, and I am hoping someone can help. I have many pictures of this tractor, but my account is to new here to allow me to post them. Please send me a private message and I can forward you a link to the picures.
This tractor has always been housed in a barn or garage and indeed I found it in an old barn jere in Ohio where it was not seeing much use. I believe it is pretty much original except that it has been converted to 12 volts and sports a new alternator which I put on since I have owned the tractor. And of course the front tires have been replaced with automotive tires. At first I was wondering how the automotive tires would work out, but after using it for a few years towing a small trailer around the grounds to pick up sticks and doing some mowing, I find I love the automotive tires as they act like turn fires and do not dig in like normal narrow tractor tires.
Thanks in advance for your help,
