This is a great site!! Hope you can help me find out about my new, old Ford 4000. There are only two numbers on the lug back of the starter 41312 and under that<>46233<> What can you tell me about this tractor as it seems to run well but the wireing is in sad condition and the sheet metal is in need of some major repair or replacement. The power steering pump has a very minor leak.

And I have no idea how to answer the question what year is the tractor. So I can start to look for parts.

This is my first tractor and we will spend a lot of time together.

Thanks Bill

It is a 1964, parts are still available from your local New Holland (was Ford) dealer, including the wiring harness, be sure and tell them it is a 4000 4 cylinder because Ford also made a 4000 3 cylinder from 1965 -1974 which is totally different from yours.

Hi Al, I have the same 4030 you do and my local NH dealer can get "most" of the parts I need. Some have been discontinued, but those parts are mostly small brakets and such. The major parts can still be gotten by them.

We are a Ford dealer for 66 years and can ship you a part if I have it and another dealer does not want to.

Thanks for the information! I too have a 63 4000. My local New Hollands dealer told me that they could not get parts for my tractor and that they could not look up part numbers for me.

I drove over an hour and a half to another dealer, how not only was willing to look parts up, but had them in stock! They even provided me with assembly drawings and part numbers. Why is ther such a huge difference between dealerships?

Once again, thanks for being one of the few dealerships willing to help those of us with older tractors. (I may purchase a new tractor one day and I certainly will not purchase from a dealership that will not help me with my old tractor!)

Tim

I have what I have just found out is a 65 4000 with the 3 cylinder. I really enjoy this tractor.

My local Ford/New Holland dealer is in Peru NY and has been great for loking up things for me and then walking tover to the shelf and pulling out the parts, everytime. Nothing major, but always helpful and has the part.

i jerked around on the wseb looking for a voltage regulator, bought one, it's wrong. I was driving by the dealer one day and said what the heck, went in, he had it and a very good price too.

It is Peru Farm Center, great folks.
