Hello all, I'm looking at getting a Ford 2600
but I don't know anything about this tractor.
I was needing to know a little about this tractor
if anyone has owned one,was it dependable, and
if you think this is a good tractor?I'm not sure
what kind of engine is in it, I think gas. What
would the value,in a ballpark figure, be? Thanks
in advance. Kenneth

I just bought a 1974 Ford tractor with front end loader w/trailer,brushhog,large disk, and logging tongs. 3 cylender deisel. Its in very good shape. I've been told it was a commercial rig with a backhoe on it at one time. Would like to find the backhoe attatchment to go back on it. Bought it from my father inlaw ($3100) This is my first tractor hope its a good one. Im in North Central Ar.

Kenneth I own a '78 2600 and are very pleased with it. They make great small general purpose tractors. Power is in the 32 hp range and weight is around 3700 lbs. My diesel starts well, runs great and is very easy on fuel. Good diesel units will fetch 7500 to 8500 and about 1500 less for gas units. Good luck. Roy

The 2600 is the follow on to the 2000 with the same basic tractor at ~30 hp. The link below is a link to the NCDA'a Ag Review which has a fairly lengthy classified section and several months worth of history. Go search there for 2000's, 2600's, 3000's and 3600's and you will find a decent price range.
