Can anyone provide the procedure for removal of the this models flywheel. It's never been off and the starter went out and I need to R&R it. I have yet to be able to determine a way to get the nut off the top of the shaft keeps spinning the crank and there's nothing I can see to wedge against the flywheel to allow me to break the nut.

Success! Was able to take a large pipe wrench to hold onto the pully shaft from below and broke the nut lose. Fly wheel came off easily and like I suspected the starter was burned out or at least smells that way.

Glad to hear it but why all the trouble? You don't need to remove flywheel to remove the starter anyhow.

Next time zap it with a air fired scoket works great, plus there are other tricks take out plug put a a thing clean rag in the piston with piston at bottom of stroke now turn nut slowly and off it comes

Use an impact wrench. If not available, remove spark plug and stuff a length of clothesline rope in the cylinder, leaving a length stick out for removal. The piston will come up against the rope and you'll be able to wrench the flywheel nut loose.
