How long were John Deere 330's made. From the 330's registered on www.weekendfreedomachines.org they were only made in 1986. Then the 332 replaced them. I own one and puchisted it for $1800 with 48 inch mower deck. How long were they made? Are they hard to come by? Did we get a good deal?

Only one year I believe. I have one that I got as a basket case. It came with a 46" deck (measured from blade tip to blade tip). The engine oil was never changed and it eventually started to smoke badly. So they tore it down to have the engine done and they did not want to pay the cost, so it sat for a few years until they gave it to me. I got the rest of it all back together, but I do not have the engine block. I then bought a 332.

$1,800 is not too bad if it has low hours and is in good condition. They just don't have the power steering like the 318,322 or 332. But they last a long time.

Talk about a deal, a friend asked me to look at a 318 for him that was for sale in his town. The owner wanted $1,000 so I was not expecting much of a tractor. I went to see it, come to find out, it had only 410 hours, and came with a 48" deck with powerflow bagger, front 4 way hyd plow, weights, chains, weight box, and pull cart. It was all in mint condition. I would have liked to get it myself.

Mike

yes they were only the one year and they are pretty rare, and those diesel yanmars will run forever ,just change the oil ,i do mine when i get it out in the spring, around the 4th of july and again before i park it for the winter.1800 is a great price,to check prices go to machinefinder.com.this is the john deere dealer locater just register.it"s free and check the lawn equip and jd 330 and they will pop up and what dealers have them.there is one in ill for 2795 right now.the one diff other then p.s. is the manual fuel shut off.which i kinda like, just like the old diesel tractors.my 430 solinoid died years ago evidently and they converted it to manual, which i like kindof a anti-theft device.
