my murray has a hot battery, and will not start.
the solenoid and the ignition swith have been replaced, and i can put a jumper wire directly to the starter and it will turn over, but with the key swith it will not.
can someone give me any suggestions, or where to find a wiring diagram online???

another thing u might chk if it still wont start is check the harness where it plugs on to the switch on the battery terninalof the switch and see if its corroded or not getting a good connection.but like the others suggested check the safety switches first.good luck.

Did you check and see if it has a inline fuse. My old 89 or 90 had one. Also as suggested, check all the safety swxs.

That particular mower has several safety switches on it. should have one on seat, another on lever to engage blades, and yet another on clutch brake pedal. if on of these are bad, key will not turn it over. by hooking jumper to starter, all you are doing is bypassing wireing harness. i would start with the switches. just take a short piece of wire with ends stripped, and find switches and jump across the terms on the harness itself. this should help find which one is bad.
