My 85 JD 210 (that I bought used) cuts grass with what I would call a slant on the right side. The grass height on the inside of the right side is over an inch higher in the center than at the outer edge. It may even be more pronounced than that. THe blades look to pass within a 1/4 inch or so of each other so it's pretty close. The deck appears to have the proper slant of 1/4 in lower at the front. Blades are new and sharp. Is this common with the older 210 decks? It s a 38 in deck with 2 blades, not three. Mike.

Sounds like your spindle is cocked. These decks had a problem with rot where the spindle mounts and it caused the spindle housing to cock. Deere sells patch panels (like shims) to reinforce the area. Go to www.weekendfreedommachines.org and they will straighten you out. Kenny

Actuall, I took the damned thing apart this afternoon and the blades were a full 1 1/8" apart. I shimmed the bearings for the time being with washers and it now cuts great. I had to raise the bridge AND lower the river(did both sides in opposite dirctions). NOW I'll look for shims but it is really rotted bad. Mike
