1811 cub cadet/ irregular spark

sometimes has spark, runs like a champ when she does run, ignition module or short??? how do i get to module? do i have to pull engine? someone on here said it was easy, tell me how, thanks

On an 1811 Cub, you do have to remove the engine to replace the coil. If you will post little more info as to what it is doing, maybe we can answer where as to look for the problem on this unit. Does it quit while using and them need to cool down, or does it have intermittant spark, or what????? ? If it gets hot and shuts down, then time to spend $100.00 give or take for a coil. If it an intermittant spark problem, then you probbably have a short somewhere

JT, thanks for info, today my oil light comes on when it wants to, always comes on when key is turned on posistion. do you think maybe ignition SWITCH????

Could quite possibly be a bad ignition switch.

just take off the top cover of motor the blower housing then the solid state module is right in the front at the flywheel.if you change it make sure u set an air gap b tween the flywheel and the ignition module. don
