Finally got my carb probelms straightened out. I have been using it for about an hour everyday since last Friday,no problmes until Monday. I was mowing and it just died.Riased the hood, and a small amount of smoke was coming from the flywheel screen,I spilled about a teaspoon or so when changing to oil.It started right back up and within a couple of minutes it cut opff agin.I pulled the plug on the carb off and gas came out.I tries it again and it started back up, so I limped it ot the shop.Pulled shroud and cleaned up any traces of the oil I spilled, which I really couldnt tell other than a slight oily fim on top of the flywheel.I went out yesterday and let it sit for about an hour idleing and it stayed running.Hop on,give it the gas and go to cutting.Within 5 minutes it cut off again.Everytime I tried t ocheck for spark,it either started back up on one cylinder or I got a nice little jolt. My neighbor mentioned it may have a low oil shutdown switch that maybe going bad,but I dont see one.Any suggestions.

It may be flooding. Pull the air filter and let it run a bit, if its flooding it will overflow with fuel.

Is this a V-Twin or a Flat Twin? If it is a flat twin the Magnetron ( coil ) may be failing from heat. The only way to know for sure is to replace the coil.

It sounds to me like a fuel feed problem. It is getting sufficient to run at idle but when the demand goes up the bowl level starts decreasing.

Pull the fuel line off the carb inlet. The fuel should pour out at areasonable rate. If not look to the fuel filter or tank outlet being obstructed.

In a case like this, first thing to check is vent hole in the gas cap.
