I will use my imagination and say its a LAWN tractor and it is a MODEL 1420 with a 38" deck and a kohler magnum vertical shaft engine! Some people are blind! to cub cadet lawn tractors. If this is not it then its a frankenstein of mixed cubs!

I will guess Free (poor) to $600 (excellent)

Ernest. No one is blind! as you so eptly stated to LAWN tractors made by Cub Cadet. If YOU had actually read my post here then you would have realized that I simply asked for more info than he provided in his November 7th post. Even you are guessing are guessing at this point. Let me ask you this: If someone asked you, "Why won't my garden/lawn tractor doesn't start?", wouldn't you desire more info than to try and guess at what the problem actually was? Could be as simple as no gas to the engine needs major work. Other members of this forum don't always have the time to take SWAGS when answering questions. They want to be as helpful and timely in answering questions as possible.

Not to argue with anybody but joeyz2 added "lawn tractor 1988 14 hp kohler 38" deck". That tells me its a 1420 or a frankenstein of mixed parts.

The not blind part was not meant for anybody that already posted a reply. Sorry I should have been more clear on that. But sometimes loyal "cub cadet" fans just diss-hate the word lawn before tractor. To me they all have a place and a purpose, If all you want to do is mow grass and plow and blow snow all you would need is a lawn tractor. If you want to till, plow ground, plow and blow snow, pull heavy loads, mow and more you need a garden tractor. My theory anyhow?

in 1988 cub Cadet made no tractors listed in the blue book with a 14hp Kohler and a 38" deck. If you want ANYONE to help you with this, you need to post a model number, otherwise you are asking for info that does not exist!!!!! !!!!

Joeyz2... You asked the same question on November 7. I will give you the same answer as before.

You haven"t stated anything other than it is a 1988 Cub Cadet. It is hard to even begin whereas they made different models with different options. Need much more input than what you"ve currently supplied.

What model is it? 149 or what? If it's a 149 it's a hydro, right? Maybe it has a three speed transmission. Either way someone would have to know a bit more to be able to price it. Where are you and what do you want for it?
