I have a 212 JD Garden Tractor with electric mower lift instead of hydralic. Can I buy put hydralics on?

Also can I buy a tiller for the back?

and if so, where can I purchase them or what are they called so I might check on ebay?

THANKS MUCH !!!

GD

You can add a hydralic lift if you want to but you will have to find a used unit as they are no longer available from JD. Why bother though, if your electric lift works, be happy with that as most of us have manual lifts. You can find most items on ebay for the old 200 series tractors sooner or later.

You would need a model 31 tiller for the 212 and some other items you need to get it working. Try www.weekendfreedommachines.com
It is a John Deere garden tractor site with forums where you can find answers to most any question you may have. Forums----Restoration and Repair Forum----- -Gear Drive Tractors.

.. can I use the "electric" life for other things than the mower? Do have contraptions for little plows [snow] etc .. ?

Sorry I so "unlearned" on this .. .. I just don't know what the electric lift is capable of ..

Thanks
GD

Your electric lift will lift anything that a hydro unit will lift. You just need the correct rods and pieces to connect things like a tiller, front plow, integral hitch, or whatever. You can go to the john deere web site to check out their parts illustrations. If you sign up for a free account you can get prices and availability too. I usually use the model search once I get into the parts catalog.

i've fgot elec lift on my 112...5 years ago when i bought it didn't have a clue why have it...now ive got jd 37a snowblower for it, works awesome just push the little toggle instead of pullin a handle...same with the mower deck...don't know about the hydraulics..you could hook up hydraulics, but then for all the xpense probably better off gettin a different lawnmower...model 31 tiller works with your system...never used one, although i've offten thooought about puttin on my xmas list...oh welll, i think santas gettin me another pair of long underwear...hooooo hummmm
