Did your dealer tell you what is shot about it? The complete hydro assembly is $1910.00. The charge pump, bolts on front of transmission is $420.00. Has he pressure checked anything. Does the machine still move, but no hydraulics? Could be valve messed up, will not let the fluid throught it. Unless the tranny has broken parts, it can be rebuilt, sounds to me like someone is looking for an easy project to make a few bucks.

Sometimes, when the charge pump goes, it tears up the hydro's input shaft.

Charge pump rotor kit (15): $180.00

Complete Charge pump (20): $420.00

Input shaft (35): $435.00

So, unless it is a real simple problem, a good used hydro is a LOT more cost effective!

Larry, the part that is broken is called a charge pump. you MIGHT be lucky and just sheared the drive pin, or you might have wrecked the whole thing. Has the dealer taken it apart yet? His prices are not out of line.
