I remember several years ago we had a Roto Tiller (front tine)with a Lauson engine that could be converted to a push mower by removing a belt, sliding off the tiller assembly, and attaching a mower assembly. The mower was bulky, but both mower and tiller worked OK. Has anyone seen a machine like this? I can't find any information at all on this tiller.

I have a 1954 Roto-Ette which is also, an early version of Troy Built. Parts are hard to come by. May want to try EBAY

Yahoo also has some tiller sites if you make it thru the spam stuff you might be all right.

Chore Master (sp?) was one brand, I still have the mower deck for one hiding in the blackberry's. As I remember, my grandad just decided the mower was too clunky, and left the tiller intact. He figured it was too much trouble to use the mower.

The Toro "Power-Handle" was a popular model, but all the ones I ever worked on had Briggs & Stratton engines. Handle and motor assembly fit several attachments including a mower, snowblower, rototiller, water-pump, etc.

This was made by the Roto Tiller company in Troy New York (Forerunner of Troy-Bilt) It has a yellow and red color scheme with the Roto-Tiller logo on the handle brace.
