old horizontal shaft twin cyl opposed motor tonr down for overhaul. cylinders look good, intakes look good. exhaust valves have .010 clearance on stem. do they make oversize valves? bore out and installed guides? use briggs guides or just 5/16 generic guides from NAPA? whats the normal repair?

The briggs aluminum valve guides need to be reamed and have bushing installed to tighten them up. If you go to Napa to buy them, then you might pay a pretty penny to get thme installed, where as is you go to your local dealer with the engine alrady apart, they will probably install them for around $30-45.00, including the price of the bushings
