Does anyone know if there is a tranny that will fit a 2160 instead of rebuilding the stock one. It cost way too much too rebuild, but the tractor is still in good shape. Thanks

You wouldn't happen to have a parts break down on this. I found one on the internet but its not a very good picture. If you have one could you e-mail it to me for reference when putting back together. Thanks

Hey there homer;
You can Google up www.surpluscenter.com Go to engines , then go to power transmission, go to
bottom left to transaxles.They show a 6 speed
originally for 2000 series cubs they want $399.99, that's brand new, cheaper than the rebuild cost. Bob
God bless

What is it not doing? I'm not familiar with that model but someone might know a route to take.

It's slipping in all the gears. The local IH dealer says they are known for that and it takes around 1500 dollars to fix. He said they replaced about 20 of them under warranty. He said people used them as a hydro and that ruins the clutchs.

I bought the whole clutch/transmission unit off ebay last month for $85. A dealer in Michigan had one on E-bay as buy it now and didn't get a bite. Different clutch for forward and reverse. Wet clutch uses 3 friction disks for each. About $6 apiece.With a parts break down and a handy friend you could fix for $100 in parts. Go to www.messicks.com for parts dia and prices. Parts books also on E-bay..
