I have seen this question posted a couple of times, but I too am wondering if there is a fast hitch to three point conversion out there. I have a chance to get ahold of a really nice sickle bar mower. Problem is that it is a fast hitch.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I think you kinda worded it backwards. You want to go from a 3-point on the tractor, to a 2-point (fast) hitch on the implement, right?

Most of the time this is done by torching off the 2-point & welding on a 3-point frame to the implement.

However, 2-point implements are becoming rarer, and are now worth more than 3-point implements, so I would suggest selling the 2-point implemt, buy a 3-point implement, and pocket the difference. Much less work too. :)

If you do want to go from fast hitch to 3-point, there are several different companies including IHC that made adaptors to make the tractor 2-point accept 3-point implements.

Thanks everyone for your input.
Turns out I cannot get ahold of the mower anyway.
I definitely would have not cut it up if I had gotten it-It was too nice.
Hopefully, the person who did get it will actually be able to use the fast hitch and will not cut into it.

Thanks again.

No, Paul. He's plenty clear, I misread it! good advice, don't butcher the 2pt equipment, it is worth much more as a 2pt. Stuff's getting pretty rare!

Check out worksaver.com - they have an assortment of 3pt hitches, and 2pt/3pt hitch conversions. I have one of theirs on a Farmall 200, which works out well. Their conversion is well done, and plenty strong. Used that hitch on a Deere 65 mower this summer. Only problem is that the Deere mower also attaches to the tractor's drawbar, as a fixed point to lift against, to lift the sickle bar, and you loose your drawbar when you go to 3pt hitch! Had to add another arm fastened to the under side of the tractor, on the side of the 2pt carrage to provide that function. Do some other research on the internet, there are other manufacturers who make these. Have heard of some having made their own. Worksaver seemed a little pricy, but it was good, and their delivery was prompt. One other thing, I had to purchase a shorter top link, the one they supplied was too long for some of my applications. But do look at their website - they have good illustrations.
