I'm trying find a replacement fertilizer hopper for a cub planter/side dresser. The one I have is kinda busted. I was quoted a price of $200+. Is this what I should expect to pay or is there another alternative?

I have made several of these hoppers from 16 gauge sheet metal. The castiron bottoms are usually OK. Go to your local sheetmetal shop and see if they will make you a new hopper top. Another source is to find a old IH corn planter and use the hoppers. Some will fit and on some the fertilizer doen;t come out the right place. So check carefully.
