A few years ago, I believe it was in 1998 after the September floods, my father-in-law was working the fields with his "red" tractor when he came upon a spot in the field where "red" sunk deep. Spot was in the vicinity of a vacant work-over location, the backfill had not settled yet and being wet he could not find bottom. Had to wait about three days and with help of "yellow" D-9 we got it out. And he"s no "greenhorn" he has farmed this area of land here in LaSalle co. for approximately 30 years.

Saw one like that a few springs ago - only it was chained to a even bigger 4wd that was equally deeply stuck. Sure would have liked to have been a spectator when they got those two out. They could have sold tickets!

I vote with Lee, got to be a fake photo! I never stuck one but have come close and the tractor was covered with mud!

Sure is funny to look at, but a joke none the less. No mud on tractor indicates a staged picture. Either that or an odd place for a wash job... Somebody has too much time on their hands.

Around here after the 93 and 95 floods there would be seep holes right in the middle of the field , one of my customer had 4840 go down , driver pulled up on disk and tryed to back up went down to where he could open the back window and touch the mud, had to get another tractor to pulll disk out backwards and bobcat to scoop out ramp down to tractor. it happen so quick you couldn't do anything about it.

i disagree. i've seen a few stuck, but only two like this (one was a 2wd, the other was fwa- both guys could step out of the cab right at ground level). no mud on the hood, so it's obvious he/she wasn't in road gear going through standing water when this one went in, must have tried rocking it. the operator must have been too green (no pun intended) at the wheel to stop before it got this far, or too bull-headed to admit he was stuck- my guess is either a greenhorn or a bull-headed greenhorn.

Uh...uh....uh. I'm still trying to gather this. That is very deep. How did you ever get it out? I'll bet it was a treat with triples, a front mounted fuel tank, and that chisel plow behind you.

WOW! Now that's a pin!
I think the only thing that will get that old girl out is a Chinook helo!
I just hope that whoever owns it doesn't have a "red tractor(s)" pull it out; that would be REALLY embarassing!

I had a 4020 stuck like that. Finally rescued by a (bigger) blue and white tractor from high ground with a long chain. But yes, it was embarrassing.
