Can the pistons be pulled out the top of the block on a "B" without using a ridge reamer?? If not can a ridge reamer be used with the block still on the tractor? I have one connecting rod I need to remove.
Thanks, Jim H.

I use a small dremel and just cut the burr off the grove to prevent any land damages. I have pushed them out without doing this also...you need the sharp edge beviled down to prevent damage to the new rings. I never go as drastic as a ridge reemer. You can also you a grinder but be careful to just slight touch the grove. All one needs to do is de burr.

Jim:

If there's a pronounced ridge it really should be removed, and yes, if you have the right type ridge reamer, you can ridge ream while the block is still in the tractor.
