Jim, if she pull starts BUT NOT BY HAND, I sure agree with Mike, BE SURE YOUR MAG IS FIRING AT HAND CRANK RPM!!!!! Does your mag make a loud sharp SNAP when youre hand cranking??? Its easy to remove the plugs so you can turn that flywheel by hand n see if she SNAPS. Like Mike was talkin about, if the mags wind n trip coupler assembly isnt working or the spring is broke or real weak, its possible she will run when pull started but not when hand cranking cuz at over approx 250 RPM the wind n trip stops working anyway yet the mags turning fast enough then to yield a good blue spark.

With the plugs removed but their wires attached n their sides grunded see if the mag SNAPS and both plugs are giving a good visible blue and NOT a faint thin wimpy yellow or no spark????? What mag you have????? ???

If the hand crank snap n fire is good on BOTH plugs but shes hard to hand start, you could have a carb or carb adjustment problem or maybe a vacuum leak or even low compression, see about the mags snap and fire and try a new set of plugs if needed n post back what you find n we will go from there.

Good Luck n God Bless

Make sure your mag impulse coupling is working and that you have a good HOT SPARK. Make a tester from an old plug or something with a 1/4" gap it should jump and still be blue.
