I am rebuilding my Z134 from my 58 TO35 and the gasket kit comes with 4 strands of small rope about 8 feet long in a package marked "rope seal". I believe that this must be for the sealing material that goes at the edges of the rear main bearing. I have never used this type of seal before. I am assuming that it gets jammed and packed into the slots after the bearing is in place. Is this correct and does anyone have any insight or special techniques? Anyone had problems with leaks here? It also seems that there is about four times the amount of rope that is required. Is this normal? Thanks in advance. Bob in CA

Bob....just rebuilt the engine in my 35 Massy Ferguson and yes just pack the rope in as tight as you can get it. I used a old screw driver with the end broke off of it and yes there is about 4 times the amount of rope in the kit as you need.I have never had a leak...there great Tractors...hope this helps...Dave
