I have a very dumb question. I'm fixing up a 1950 Massey Harris 44. Where is the oil filler? I see a cap on left side of engine but the hydraulic pump is connected to this same housing. It looks like a hydraulic system was added later. There is a small 1/4 inch line that runs from tank in front of radiator and is attached about an inch behind this filler cap that I see. Is this my oil filler cap? and what is that line for. Thanks, Bob

Yes that is your oil filler cap. The small tube is the vent for your hydraulic tank. If you run the oil level to high & have a fast dropping single action cylinder you can force some hyd. oil into the motor base. Some of the original MH hyd tanks also had the oil return fitting installed very low.
