Havoline 30 should be fine. I use 10W40 and 20W50 in mine. Use a 20 weight or 30 weight NON-DETERGENT oil for the hydraulics. I've been using 30W ND and it works fine. The Non-Detergent is important in the hydraulics. Detergent will cause foaming and the hydraulics won't work right. Use can use standard tractor hydraulic fluid but it is a bit thinner than 30W so you may a few more leaks.

as far as the engine goes, i agree with texas denny. 30w should be fine. i'm reassembling the ensine in my 44 right now, and i plan on using 30w when i fire it up this weekend. as far as hydraulic fluid, try using permatran 3 from a local massey dealer. it's an all around good fluid, and holds up well as long as you don't allow any water contamination.
