How to attach badges with hood on?

Putting the final touches on my 2N renovation. Got a great looking Ferguson badge from DonB. Got my wife to repaint my original Ford 2N oval.

Now I realize there is no easy way to attach these with the hood on. I cant get my arm inside the grill to push on the speed clip.

Anybody know how this could be done (short of removing the hood)

I suppose some type of adhesive could work, but I would always worry about it shaking loose. Someone recommended tough-as-nails or some such goop.

Any ideas would be appreciated, the parade is Saturday.

only two bolts at bottom of grill and grill slides down and out thru bottom. grill is not bolted at top/only two retaining pins that slip in/out of hood.you might have to loosen the dogleg bolts just a little if the grill is in between them tight. 10/15 min. job.

Get a Ferguson, and you can just raise the hood. (Don't hit me; just kidding. But it's true.)

If you remove the two bottom bolts on the "dog-legs", you can easily remove the grille. The clearence between the hood and the radiator is about 2.5 inches. --More than enough room.

Hope this helps!

You might try just removing the 2 bottom bolts of the hood and just remove the grill. I haven't done that so i'm not sure about the clearence to the radiator. Good luck and enjoy the parade.

It only takes me about 15 minutes to remove my hood. That is without help. With help probably about 10 minutes.... I would suggest that route, unless you have a trained cockroach who could do it for you...

If one person tries to lift the hood, is there a best location to stand for leverage and less damage to the back, such as standing in front and reaching around? I need to take mine off but can't seem to match the time when help is available. Thanks

This should give everyone a chuckle. I needed help to get the hood off of an 8N. The only help available was my better half and she is not very big or strong. I threw a rope over a beam in the barn and tied one end to the hood at an estimated balance point. The other end had a loop around my wife's backside. I lifted and she backed-up, nice and easy.

I stand in front...If at all possible, get help... Make sure the gas tank is empty.. It is also easier if you remove the steering wheel...
