i have a 41 9N and was using it to move some snow the other day and when i pushed down clutch pedal the tractor just kept on going, i almost hit wifes car not good. glad i was thinking had to turn key off to get it to stop! time for new clutch and plate,any thing to look for when in there?

Sounds like you might have to much fluid in the trany., front seal is leaking causing clutch to stick to flywheel, some block clutch down when not in use, others spray break cleaner fluid in there, some even remove starter and add talcomb powder, sure fire way is to remove and replace .

Usually when a clutch goes bad, the tractor cannot be shifted into gear. I would suggest that you check the linkage first. Then the throw-out-bearing before buying a disk and pressure plate. Of course, once you have parted the tractor to check the bearing, it makes sense to replace any thing about the clutch that shows much wear. Ron

Bob..... ....Not a biggie to replace the clutch, see the I&T FO-4 manual for proceedure.

I recommend removeing the tranny input shaft (4-bolts) to use as a clutch centering tool AND REPLACE the tranny input seal at the same time ($3 cheap)..... ....Dell
