Sway bar attachment question

I picked up what I thought was an adjustable category 1 stabilizer bar to prevent hitch sway.

I've read every message I could find on how to attach this thing (light implements for now, just one) and I can't figure out how to attach this while still allowing up/down movement of the hitch. If I attach this to the bolt that holds the fender on, and then attach it to one of the lower hitch arms, I can't imagine the 3ph will be allowed to raise up and down.

I am beginning to think I got a draw bar stabilizer (for keeping the draw bar level) instead of a sway bar. I got a "Speeco Stabilizer Arm" from TSC.

Pictures would be helpful here.

Hi Rob: Maybe this picture will help:

third party image

The drawbar stabilizers are pictured on the inside of the lift arms, and both connect at the top link and at either end of the 3-pt, 11-hole drawbar. With these installed, you CANNOT use your lift without damaging your hydraulics.

The anti-sway bars are pictured on the outside of the lift arms, and connect under the axles via the fender bolts. These keep implements from swaying from side to side as the tractor moves. They are very helpful for keeping your grader blade or bush hog where you want it behind your tractor. You CAN use your lift with these installed.

Hope this helps..... ..... Ed

The stabilizer bars attach to pins mounted in L-shaped brackets that mount under the nuts of the two fender bolts on the underside of the axle housings. The pins face inward, the sway bars attach to these pins on one end and the lift pins of your implement on the other. You may have to use longer lift pins on the implement to allow for the thickness of the sway bar. The L-brackets have several holes from which to choose when installing the pins. Standard linch pins are used to hold the sway bars on the pins.
