seems like it was the marvel mystery oil in the gas and fouled plugs that was the problem. oh was i relieved yesterday. thanks to the board for this help. does anyone have one of these new sedment bowls that leaks?i cannpt turn it off it drips constantly in the off possition. is there a way i an replace the valve on this with a simple open close valve that doesn't leak? i removed the sediment bowl and put a new rubber gasket 730-9506 napa on it and it doesn't leak around the bowl anymore...but it drips into the bowl in the off position turned all the way clockwise and as tights as i can go.

I replaced the bowl assy on my 2N and had the same problem....the leak wasnt from the thread/tank and wasn't from the bowl/fixture.... there was a plug 180 degrees from the valve and it was loose. i put a 7/16 wrench on it and no more leak.

Dont know if this is your problem but it took me 3 days to find mine.

Let that be a warning to you! Come to the board for advise for that old tractor and make your decisions from there. As far as the sediment bowl assy., I'd drain the fuel tank, take it off and take it back where I got it for exchange or replacement. L8R----Fred
