I am looking for a loader for a 47 2N I looked at a Dearborn the other day but is was the type you have to climb over the back of the tractor to use. Those I talked with said to avoid them.

Any Ideas ??

I have a Dearborn loader on my 8 N. I don't know what model it is but it looks very similar to the Paulson in the other response to your posting. My uprights are in the same place relative to the rear tire but are higher and there is a horizontal member a few inches above the front of the steering wheel. Mine does not hinder getting on the tractor from the side. I haven't measured but I guess mine raises 7 feet or more.

I'd say the Dearborn is a heavier duty unit but replacement parts are not to be found. I'd go with the lighter unit if I knew I could get parts. Mine can lift more maybe but steering is near impossible without counter weights on the rear. Be sure to get a hydraulic pump that mounts on the front of engine so you have live hydraulics. That's much more important than a hydraulic bucket versus a trip bucket .

I just finished installing a Paulson loader on my 8N. Contact them to see if they have something for you. Low cost (under $1400), limited load capacity, trip bucket, but plenty of room to get on/off, and installed without a problem (with the help of the great folks from this discussion group!).
