Who wanted snow? We have about 4" of wet stuff that I just cleared off 700 feet of road, a winter storm warning in effect with possibly 6-8" of more snow by morning and possibly add up to 1/4 inch of ice on top of that.
I'm going to Florida on Sunday, so there! (Darn business) I will miss my 8N ;)

I suspect that you think that I am full of beans but we are ending a week of -40 F. and we feel that we are lucky as this is one of the warmest winters in years!!( Central Saskatchewan, Canada) We are, however, short of snow. I am 45 years old and this is the driest it has ever been. The experts say that we are just a few degrees from returning to the desert conditions of millennia ago so I hope we get the snow that is the norm for here. Keep plowing snow with the N's and enjoy the moisture that germinates the crops!

Having grown up farming, I recognize the need for winter moisture for both winter wheat and long term water supplies. I certainly have not experienced the temperatures that you have, and really don't want to.
The point of my statement is that in the past weeks, comments were posted about the lack of snow with all of the equipment ready to tackle it (me too). Now we have snow and freezing rain on top of it. It is dangerous and very damaging. The snow I can deal with, the ice I'll have to live with until it melts. The damages can last a long time. I hope everyone stays safe.

Come on down, but don't bring the snow with you.
Back in the 70s when we had cattle, it came one of those white things, then ice. Tree limbs broke off and knocked all the power, but we had wood fires so we kept warm and ate. Had to feed the cows & old 8N didn't even grunt. Tires were froze anyway. Had to carry the hay bales out to the field by hand, one at a time. Cows nearly running over me and freezing to death. No more thanks.
