It has been an eventful and emotional two days. My daughter-in-law just became a US citizen, yesterday. She tried to call her parents last night and couldn't get through.
Today, while I'm going through some of my parents farm records I found the sales slip and the loan papers for the 1951 8N when my father bought it in 1953. Tractor, plow and cultivator $760. Fortunately, seriel number was listed and, to my relief, it is still the same number. I have been concerned for years that maybe the engine had been replaced by the dealer instead of overhauled several years after my father purchased it.
Then, my daughter-in-law called me this morning. Her maternal grandfather passed away this morning. She had not been able to tell him of her citizenship and she won't be able to go to Europe for the funeral.
Then, in another box of my mother's stuff, I found a wooden box with some family keepsakes that I had never seen before. In it were some greeting cards dated back to 1887 and the marriage certificate for my grandparents dated 1910. There were also some other items that I am packing up to send to my sister in Texas.
It is only 1:20pm on Saturday afternoon. I think I need some N therapy. I'm going into the garage for awhile and tinker on a 2N.
Sorry for the long post. Later. :>)

Sorry about your loss. I hope that you have a Family Tree Maker program. If not you should get one. It is really a nice and fun program to use.

I am sorry for your DIL's loss.
I am happy for her that she is now one of a very exclussive club though.

All in all it sounds like your day should still go in the 'Win' column...
