I adjusted my toplink out longer until the front of the bushhog was a couple of inches off the ground. No limiter chains and it stays there even after being parked for a couple of weeks. It allows me to make really fine adjustments and to forget about the thing dropping to the ground. It's hard to turn the toplink but I guess next time I will set the front of the bushhog on 2x4's and adjust the toplink out until she's tight. That should get me pretty close and I can adjust it from there after I take the 2x4's out. More grease on the threads will help.

Rob, That 'ain't' how it is supposed to work. I don't see how this adjustment could give much stability to the hog unless it is a two tail wheel unit. I would suggest you use the hydraulics if you have them or go with limiter chains. It is just a matter of time 'till you tear somethin' up that way.

I thought about that but I don't know how there can be much more on the link then there is when your pulling a 2-bottom plow. I'm not pulling from the toplink.
Now if I can just figure out what is going on with the draft control with constant push on the control spring.
I hope to read more discussion. I don't know but I can't see how the constant push on the control spring is going to tear anything up.
