Anyone venture to tell me how many working 1952 8N's left in the U.S. today? Curious as might be buying one. Good or Bad, things to concern oneself about? Thanks

I bought a 1952 8N several years ago. I can't say enough good things about it. I runs great, works all day, is easy to maintain and if it needs any work, you can get plenty of expert help at this site. By 1952 they (Ford) must have figured out what they were doing.

If you HAVE to have an 8N, the 52 is the way to go. If I ever get mine finished, my next Ford will be a 960.

Hey bg, what would you pay for a working 961 (wide front end)in rough shape? I know where 1 is close by and if it goes up for sale I'd like to put in a respectabe bid. Thanks.

I can't afford bird-seed for a cuckoo clock right now, but I figure it should be worth $1200 or so in rough shape. A guy around here paid $50(fifty) for one last year and all it needed to get running was a new coil. The metal was really rough, but he uses it as a puller now.

There were approx 1 million N's produced (9N, 2N, 8N). Of those, it is estimated that 1/2 of them are still operating. Of course that number is shrinking with Mark Hendershot on the loose!

Yep, ya got that right! The number of working/running tractors can "ONLY" go "DOWN", they will never go "UP"

It's a shame that some people can't figure that out! "ANYTHING" can be fixed and you can have a blast doing it!

later,dave
