19528N is light in front end, causing extreme caution in my use of the clutch. RPMs are moderate with no horsing nor jerking of the front, I am a good farmer for a woman, and even a competent person mechanically. Now, how does one add "weight" in Piedmont country to stabilize and ground front tires/axle/block, without compromising "Control"? I like myself enough to realize the dangers of these wonderful machines and enjoy every moment aboard, thus learn me something, guys.

I would suggest that you visit a local welding shop. The one with the most rusty junk laying around, not a new clean metal fabrication shop. Run your problem past them and see what they can make up inexpensivly that bolts on like a front bumper or to your front bumper if you already have one. I would prefer one that i could easily add or remove weight in incriments for the job at hand. When I get around to it I'm going to make a box that i can put weight in. My tire chains and log chains would weigh 200+ for a start. Good luck.

I have fluid AND wheel weights on my front tires. Th weights at 90 lb per side makes a big difference.

I have a bumper made from a section of railroad rail. I removed it from a hundred series tractor but the same thing could be built for an N. The bumper weighs a couple hundred lbs.

My 49 8N has water, actually water and antifreeze, in the front wheels. Helps keep it on the ground and still steers well. Although I do beleave it was that way when my Dad purchased it so have kept it that way. Your local tractor tire dealer should be able to fluid them up for you.

First of all, it is the nature of the "N"s to like to stick their nose in the air. If used with thier own equipment they are pretty stable. They were not disigned to have heavy equipment hanging on the 3 point hitch as that really makes the front get light. As you hang weight on the front to counter act the weight on the back it gets hard to steer when you let the implement down on the ground. You don't explain what you are doing with your tractor either. Stay with the loads a 20 horse power tractor should be doing and it is pretty stable.
