I picked up a copy of "Inventing the Abbotts" in DVD at Walmart the other day. I always liked this movie because of the, er, um, female talent.

Anyway, I noticed in one scene there appears to be either a ferguson or a ford.

I think it is a Ford. I could be wrong here but the stripe down the side of the hood has two small raised portions, I think the Ferguson only has one large one. SAm in NS

Rob..... ....looking thru the pickup front window, I can see an 8N radiator cap. Fergies no external radiator cap. Looking at the other pix, I can see a battery door open w/knob. Fergies hood was all 1-piece. Steering wheel hub and spokes look 8N, not fat like Fergies. Too bad rear axle nut was shaded out. Fergies no axle nut.

Thanks for sharing the "talent"..... ...Dell

Non-scrpited fenders and front-mount distributor.
I couldn't make out the radiator cap, but the battery box door latch in second photo is a dead giveaway.
Dell, Look on the dash (middle) at bottom of the windsheild. Is that a manual wiper lever? Or is that a lever to open up the old cab vent to let in fresh air? Inquiring minds want to know.
Later,

EDDIE,

The handle you see on the dash is used to crank out the bottom ov the windshield about3-4". It also had a lever under the dash for the air vent you mentioned. I bought a 1947 K-5 International when in high school in 1953. I made $14.00 a month payments on it and I was 14 years old. I built a 12' hay and grain bed on it in school shop. Two friends and I would haul hay at 10 cents a bale. We would crank out the windshield, open the vent, pull the hinge pins on the doors and take them off, tie the steering wheel and put it in grandma gear and it would drive itself across a hay field. The truck had a hand choke, a hand throttle, two speed axle, air horns, and a 20' straight pipe exhaust. Cool Huh?

In the evening when we were done we would go to town to the local drive-in and order $2.00 worth of nickel size root beers. 40 small root beer mugs. The sign on the drive-in said "Honk horn for service" My air horns cleared their tin roof by about 10"s.

My dad had a K-1 just like in the picture. I rode to California from Kansas in the back of that pickup. No kidding. Good memory.

Scott,
Thanks for the reply.
I never saw a truck (or car) that had a crank to open windshield.
Enjoyed the images conjurred up with the story about the K-5. Reminded me of some of the things in my younger days, although that would have been in the '60s.

Crank handle is to open the windshield. Miss my old International/Boyer fire truck. It was a real nice 1938 with 34,000 actual miles when we sold it recently.

My grandad had a 38 International when I was small. He and I would collect garbage at restuarants and he would cook it in iron kettles to feed hogs. I have always wanted a 38, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.
