I appologize if this is an old subject, but is there a safe way to jump a 6 volt system with a 12 volt. I just need to start my 2N. I believe I have straightend out the wiring nightmare it had before. It comes close but turns so slow that it seems to run down before it gets to the good. As always, thanks in advance. Rob

...and your battery wire sizes 'cause it sure sounds like all those 6 volts ain't getting to the starter or your starter is drawing to heavy. I would almost bet on wire size or dirty connections if I were a betting man.

don't jump from battery to battery, Jump directly to the starter pole other wise you will blow the 6 volt battery and fry the coil, You can get a ground on the tractor next to the starter and just touch the hot to the starter pole with the Key turned on and make sure the tractor is in nuetral before jumping.
