I will put my 2 cents in as well, I dont have a scoop so cant comment on that, but depending on how big and how deep you need to dig your ditch, I would suggest the 1 bottom plow, or 2 like dell stated, I had to recently dig a drainage ditch to divert the water off the hill so it would not soak the yard\barn\driveway, you get the picture, I ran a 1 bottom plow across the bottom of the hill, towards the creek I have to the side of my property and it worked slick,, the depth was plenty deep, I could have went deeper if I wanted to, I think I could have gone like 8" plus, but depending on what yo are doing with rthe ditch I would try this, I also tried the method with the back blade because at first that is what I had attached, since it was used for plowing snow,, I had no luck with that method at all, it scratched the surface but I was not impressed, maybe the ground was too froze, but the plow worked great for me, good luck, pat
